i think there are so many interesting programs that involve water that i’ve kind of been side-tracked from what i want to achieve..

back to the start - ROMAN BATHS - words I want to take from the thermal baths and the roles they played in society are exchange, community, conference, intimacy

Intimacy is an important aspect to bring to the huge, open, impersonal space of Plac Defilad. The nostalgia that Polish people feel for Cities like Krakow and old towns is for the intimate scale of life in general - including the narrow streets and close spaces.

i think generally - big cities are seen as cold and unfriendly - the opposite of intimate - and the layout of the streets in warsaw excentuates this. Maybe this is what drew me to the market place originally.

(another thing is that when people are brought together, doing things, they are encouraged to exchange views and experiences - and something comes out of it.. - i think if i created a space with the sole progam being to confer, not much would happen.)
