Bordeaux, France, le Miroir d’eau Place de la bourse - by JML Arquitectura
I really love this project - (thanks irina :) …combining the pool or ‘mirror’, that reflects the surroundings as well as the actors/people in the site, at the same time as obscuring the scene/reflected image/actors with the mist. -but less intrusive that the ‘dry fountains’. the Miroir d’eau is like a puddle after the rain, which are a reminder of what has taken place as things start up again - refreshed. ( Martin - to me this kind of relates to the idea of scars on the urban landscape.. - because they show past time.. -or even rain/flooding in the story of Noah’s ark - and the washing away of sins.. -maybe stretching it!? Placed next to the river, I’m sure it is meant to connotate the flood plain that the city is situated on ..
